This series of illustrations has been my desktop background for the past couple of weeks. Mr. Hart came and spoke to our student organization at UT Arlington and spent some time talking about this piece.
I think what this really supplies me with is that immediate surprise of something smart and well done. The popping red and black on cream seems classy-as-hell and really makes a person want to throw down with their typeface library.
Mr. Hart’s commentary on the KillerType series is really inspring. He talks about that caffein-like inspiration of the project that takes you into the early in morning hours with the energy of a teenager and how sometimes things just come out right. The type, the colors, the layout, the name; all fantastic! I really should have stolen the prints we had on display of this.
